Greetings, Division 20,
At the April Council Meeting Past Governor Gus Dornbusch recognized Linda Placzek,
from Omaha Golden K, as Distinguished Lt Governor for Kiwanis Year 2010-2011. The
Distinguished Clubs from Division 20: Bellevue-Offutt, Omaha Golden K, Omaha Westside,
Southwest Omaha, and West Omaha Diamond K, for that year were also recognized for their
accomplishment.
We condicted our Election for Kiwanis Year 2012-2013. Distinguished Past Lt Governor,
Linda Placzek, served as Election Chair. With no nominations from the floor, the Lt
Governor-Elect, Jozef Schmidtke, was elected by voice vote to the position of Division
20 Lt Governor for the Kiwanis Year 2012-2013. Joe is officially now the Lt
Governor-Designate for Division 20. We are still canvassing for a new Lt Governor-Elect.
Distributed with the Council Meeting agendas were the schedule for my Official Club
Visits and a form for Club Information that I am compiling. There is a copy of the
Club Info form in editable word format under the Club Resource menu selection on this
website. I would like those filled out and either returned to me via email, or a hardcopy
returned to me (preferabley also filled out) during my Club visit. Considering the exercise
we recently went through collecting information for KI you are probably wondering why I am
doing this. Well, this isn't a duplication of that previous effort, the information is
different. And the goal is to provide a database of what the Clubs are involved in, both
to upgrade the website and as an ongoing reference for the Lt Governor to use.
There are a couple of items that need explaining on the form: For Recurring projects, if
the project is new this year (Distinguished criteria item) just place an 'x' in the "New 2011-2012"
column. The Bylaws date is the KI approval date, the Version Date is the date on the front
top of the Bylaws form.
The May Meeting will be presided over by Omaha-Westside, our speaker
will be Margaret Lageschulte, from Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly.
Lonnie
Lt Governor
April, 2012
