Lt Governor Notes
Hi,
Welcome to Division 20's website. It is designed to improve communication between
Division leadership as well as between the clubs in Division 20. Be sure to notify the editor
newsletter to email your clubs newsletter to Lonnie Shumate, our Lt. Governor-elect. A big
round of thanks to Lonnie for getting this website put together for us.
I am enjoying meeting members of all clubs as I install new officers and board members for
each club. Each club in this division has great leadership. That leadership is responsible
for the service which our clubs provide to the Metro. community.
As I thought about that I tried to imagine our community without Kiwanis. It is a sad
thought which would leave many people hurting. Division 20 leaders and members should be
proud of what happens because of Kiwanis. This is why bringing in new members to Kiwanis is
so important. More Kiwanians equals the opportunity to provide more service to children,
youth and adults in our community. So let's invite potential new members to participate with
us in a service project. Once they see the good we do, they are apt to join Kiwanis and
continue their service to the community.
I want to congratulate the Kiwanians who worked so hard to organize the RCR Kiwanis Pancake
er 25, as well as the many Kiwanians who worked at the event. This event provides visibility
for Kiwanis and an opportunity for members of Division 19 and 20 to work together. The
weather was not pleasant, but inside the Kiwanis tent there was plenty of warmth, laughter and
a friendly atmosphere. (hot coffee was very popular)
Thanks again for your support of this event.
I look forward to seeing Club officers at our Division Council Meeting on Wed, Oct. 6, at
7:00 AM.
